# Modern Easel-Like Lamps This Minimalistic Lamp is Feebly and Abstractly Beautiful By Jen Chae | Published 2013-06-19 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalistic-lamp References: [ideacious](http://ideacious.com/details2000000036.htm?S=2931113508&L=0) & [noon-studio](http://noon-studio.com/) Most mod home decors are black or white, but this minimalistic lamp manages to stay chic even with it being made out of wood. The Compas Lamp by [Noon Studio](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nuo-pizza-oven), with its [simple three-piece frame](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/horizon-table-light), stands slightly lopsided. It looks nothing like your conventional image of what a lamp is supposed to be, in its frail-looking structural design that resembles something along the lines of an artist's easel. The Compas Lamp's height can be adjusted. It can stand as a floor lamp or leaned against a wall as a wall decal and lamp in one. This is a new and abstract approach to furniture design -- the Compas Lamp focuses on the lamp's part and presence in its given space. The lamp is made using [eco-conscious wooden materials](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flatpack-timber-lamp). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 65% | Activity: 11% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Easel-like Furniture:** Opportunity to create furniture designs that incorporate elements from other artistic mediums, such as easels. - **Minimalist Lighting:** Opportunity to create lighting designs that prioritize simplicity and function over ornate and decorative features. - **Eco-conscious Design:** Opportunity to create products that use environmentally-friendly materials and production methods. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture:** Opportunity for furniture designers to incorporate artistic elements and create minimalistic designs. - **Lighting:** Opportunity for lighting designers to prioritize simplicity and function in their designs. - **Sustainable Design:** Opportunity for businesses to embrace eco-conscious practices and materials in their production processes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Weighted Multi-Position Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-desk-lamp-design.md) - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md) - [Elegant Axis-Mounted Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pendulum-lamp.md) - [Geometric Industrial Desktop Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebula-lamp.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Minimalist Tech Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/delite-20.md) - [Design-Focused Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-soul.md) - [Raw Minimalist Pine Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoop-table-lamp.md)
