The desk incorporates [wood with metallic components](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/track-concept) and features a recessed section in the rear that can be used for [storing books or paperwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-shelf-pro). This area also provides an additional ledge for positioning plants or other decor items that can add a touch of character to the otherwise minimalist workstation. The 'Piano' desk is designed in several color choices that range from naturalistic to more eye-catching to make it either a subtle or more vibrant addition to a living space. The design of the workstation would also allow professional materials to be easily stowed between office hours to keep the tabletop functional for other household activities. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 70% | Activity: 37% | Freshness: 10% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Minimalist Workstations:** Creating functional, minimalist workstations for professionals with an eye for design. - **Hybrid Furniture:** Designing furniture pieces that combine multiple functionalities, such as desks that double as storage spaces. - **Integrating Nature:** Incorporating natural elements into furniture design, such as ledges for plant decor. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Design:** Creating innovative and functional workstations for the modern home. - **Interior Design:** Assessing how furniture design can impact the look and feel of an entire living space. - **Home Office:** Catering to the needs of professionals working from home by creating workspace solutions that promote productivity. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Modular Creative Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/note-desk.md) - [Pocket Storage-Equipped Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pocket-desk.md) - [Sleek Storage-Packed Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/threesix-desk.md) - [Minimalist Storage-Paired Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diag-desk.md) - [Single-Piece Construction Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nook-desk.md) - [Minimalist Clutter-Free Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/parallel-work-table.md) - [Minimalist Modular Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/console-desk.md) - [Minimalist Monochromatic Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arqus-desk.md) - [Minimalist Demure Designer Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/backup-desk.md)
