# Giant Paperclip Seating – The Smooth 'Glide' Chair Offers Relaxation Through Simplicity The Smooth 'Glide' Chair Offers Relaxation Through Simplicity By Alexandra Choli | Published 2009-02-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-seating-smooth-glide-chair-relaxation-kedar-naik References: [freshome](http://freshome.com/tag/kedar-naik/) & [coroflot](http://www.coroflot.com/public/individual_file.asp?portfolio_id=881466&individual_id=51654) When a board of fiberglass curved its slick form to accommodate the figure of fatigue, the Glide chair made its first stand in the world. The magical simplicity of this design leaves you in awe, while its smooth seating and [polished aluminium base](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-view-chair) make you rather indecisive: take the weight off your feet or merely stare? Created by Kedar Naik, the [fancy paperclip design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-limbo-chair) is lightweight and [ergonomically shaped](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/breck-chair), and available in cool black or clear white. It may well make the center of attention in your living room, but before having your guests attempt a relaxation session, I would suggest a furry white throw for some softness input. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 15% | Activity: 50% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Minimalist Furniture:** There is a trend towards minimalist furniture designs that offer simplicity and elegance. - **Ergonomic Seating:** The demand for ergonomic seating options is increasing, as people prioritize comfort and support. - **Sleek Design:** Sleek and polished designs are becoming popular, as they add a touch of sophistication to spaces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture:** The furniture industry can explore minimalist designs and ergonomic seating options to meet consumer demands. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate sleek and minimalist furniture designs to create visually appealing spaces. - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can capitalize on the trend of sleek and polished designs by offering furniture and accessories that enhance the overall aesthetic of a space. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Naturalistic Grass-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-flip-chair.md) - [Wavy Lounge Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wavy-lounge-chair.md) - [Soothing Boat-Like Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canoa-chair.md) - [Structurally Complex Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-arch-chair.md) - [Aluminum Stainless Steel Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/morph-chair.md) - [Slick Futuristic Chair Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/classical-norwegian-design.md) - [Modernist Ski-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tip-chair.md) - [Ergonomic Butterfly-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wings-chair.md) - [Circular Modernist Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zerogravity-chair.md)
