Probably not minimalist in the strictest sense, but work with me here. It’s a wire chair. Jaebeom Jeong says that it's a collaboration between a [classic chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/danish-midcentury-modern) and one designed by a computer. It is on display in South Korea until the end of January. **Implications** - People are adopting a "back to the basics" attitude since the recession rocked the economy. This mentality has been translated into many industries, including the furniture industry (as seen with this [minimalist wire chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stamping-chair)). Businesses that take away unnecessary bells and whistles from their product will appeal to this generation of apprehensive consumers. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Minimalist Furniture Design:** Businesses can innovate by incorporating minimalist design principles into their products to appeal to consumers looking for simplicity and a return to basics. - **Wire Chairs:** Manufacturers can explore wire chairs as a new furniture trend, experimenting with different materials and finishes to create unique designs. - **Computer-designed Furniture:** Companies can explore the use of computer algorithms for furniture design, combining the precision of technology with the creativity of human designers. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture:** The furniture industry can incorporate minimalist principles to create stylish, yet functional designs that cater to the needs of modern customers. - **Manufacturing:** Manufacturing companies can explore new materials and fabrication techniques to create unique and unconventional wire furniture designs. - **Design:** Design firms can experiment with technology and precision to create innovative furniture designs that cater to the needs of the modern consumer. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Storage-Attached Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grid-chair.md) - [Aesthetically Pleasing Minimalist Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-chairs.md) - [High-End Headphones-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-chair-design.md) - [Strong Geometric Steel Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zerothickness-chair.md) - [Minimal Geometric Chair Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/euclid-chair.md) - [Bended Tubular Chair-Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wire-chair-concept.md) - [Circular Modernist Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zerogravity-chair.md) - [Luxurious Minimal Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxurious-minimal-chair.md) - [Scissor-Inspired Minimal Wooden Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kainchee-chair.md)
