# Pyramid Pendant Lights This Minimalist Pendant Light Collection Draws Inspiration from Giza By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2014-11-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-pendant-light References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/giza-pendant-lamps-itai-bar/) & [itaibaron](http://www.itaibaron.com/giza/) This minimalist pendant light design by Itai Bar-On is simply constructed from as few components of possible, including angled blocks of wood and aluminum panels. Using these materials and a variety of tapers, the Giza lighting collection branches out beyond just pendant lights with sconces and larger hanging fixtures. The triangular shape of the lighting collection and its likeness to the pyramids is probably what gives the lighting series its name. One of the most interesting details that's included in all of the lighting designs is a small slit on the sides, between where two aluminum panels meet. Rather than being joined or patched together, this space lets a tony crack of light seep through. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 76% | Activity: 10% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Minimalist Lighting:** The growing consumer interest in minimalist designs offers opportunities for disruptive innovation in lighting industries. - **Angled Components:** Using angled components in lighting fixtures can present innovative solutions for lighting design and manufacturing. - **Geometric Shapes:** The increasing popularity of geometric shapes in home decor and architecture provides an opportunity for innovative lighting designs. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Lighting Manufacturing:** The minimalist design trend presents an opportunity for lighting manufacturers to adapt and produce more modern, sleek products. - **Interior Design:** The emergence of geometric shapes in interior design presents an opportunity to incorporate innovative lighting fixtures into new design concepts. - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers can create integrated lighting components within their creations using angled components to add an extra layer of functionality to modern designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stacked Illuminator Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/konnect-pendant-light.md) - [Bakery-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/croissant-pendant-light.md) - [American Oak Pendant Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-bean.md) - [Graphic Lighting Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pyl-lighting.md) - [Baked Good-Inspired Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/croissant-pendant.md) - [Spontaneity-Inspired Sculptural Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-lighting-designs.md) - [Geometric Bar-Like Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/empyrean.md) - [Encapsulated Semi-Transparent Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nested-pendant-light.md) - [Minimally Designed Ethereal Pendants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightmass.md)
