Chu Huang, who lives in Zhejiang Province in China, spent a month making the suit by hand. Chu Huang is a busy doctor who works until 7:30pm every day and rarely gets time off work to spend with his son. But knowing that his son was obsessed with [superheroes decked out in badass armor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fantastic-four-first-steps), Huang decided to get to work and make an Iron Man suit for his boy. Huang had no prior experience making costumes, and spent over a month on websites and forums seeking information and instructions. He then began spending his free time the evenings crafting the suit out of EVA plastic sheets. Rather than copying Iron Man's signature red and a gold suit, Huang decided to make a minimalist Iron Man suit with a consistent gold shade. The suit is made to fit an adult, so Huang's little boy will surely be eager to grow up as fast as he can in order to be able to wear the suit. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.0/10 - Popularity: 91% | Activity: 80% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [DIY](https://www.trendhunter.com/diy) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Homemade Superhero Suits:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the market for DIY superhero suits and provide easy-to-follow instructions and materials for parents to make them at home. - **Minimalist Costume Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop a line of minimalist costumes for popular superheroes, appealing to those who prefer a sleek and modern aesthetic. - **Personalized DIY Projects:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create a platform or subscription service where individuals can access step-by-step instructions and materials for personalized DIY projects like building superhero suits. ### Who This Affects Most - **Cosplay Industry:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Provide resources and tools for cosplayers to create their own unique superhero suits and costumes. - **Children's Entertainment Industry:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Offer customizable superhero suit kits for children, allowing them to design and create their own unique costumes. - **Craft Supplies Industry:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop a line of specialized materials and tools specifically tailored for building homemade superhero suits and costumes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Oversized Superhero Statue Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-iron-man-hulkbuster.md) - [DIY Life-Size Tanks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nd-woodworking-art.md) - [Superhero-Themed Wireless Earbud Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iron-man-helmet.md) - [Interactive Fossil-Inspired Costumes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wearable-dinosaur-costume.md) - [Hero-Inspired Armored Figurines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hulkbuster.md) - [Superhero-Themed Headphone Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/3dprinted-headphone-stands.md) - [AI-Generated Motorbike Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coldstar-art.md) - [Branded Superhero Gaming Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/noblechairs-hero-iron-man-chair.md) - [Comic-Inspired LEGO Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-lord-lego-helmet.md)
