Livia Ritthaler of Germany has managed to construct a [vintage turntable](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/henry-turntable) at home out of some surprisingly rudimentary parts. A wooden board, a sheet of paper and few pieces of metal were carefully fabricated into a [working vinyl phonograph](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amuni-studio). Incredibly, it doesn't even need electricity to work! The [paper cone tone-arm](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vs01-bluetooth-vertical-turntable) is mounted on a slender bracket that keeps the little needle steady. A record can be placed upon the plywood platter of the Minimalist Gramophone and manually spun with an extended spindle in the center. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 38% | Activity: 76% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Minimalist Technology:** The construction of a functional turntable using basic materials opens up possibilities for minimalist technology in various industries. - **DIY Electronics:** The development of a homemade gramophone demonstrates a growing trend of individuals building their own electronic devices. - **Sustainable Manufacturing:** Using simple materials to create functional electronics highlights the potential for sustainable manufacturing practices in the technology industry. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Consumer Electronics:** The DIY gramophone showcases the potential for innovative products in the consumer electronics industry. - **Craft and DIY:** The homemade gramophone taps into the craft and DIY industry, encouraging individuals to create their own unique electronic devices. - **Green Technology:** The construction of a functional turntable with minimal environmental impact highlights opportunities in the green technology industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Vinyl Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-paron-iii.md) - [Metallic Architectural Record Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rytm.md) - [Ultra-Modern Record Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-record-players.md) - [Omni-Position Record Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/black-wheel-turntable.md) - [Sleek Vertical Turntables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miniot-wheel-3.md) - [Retro Vinyl Record-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gramophone-lamp.md) - [Futuristic Old-Fashioned Phonographs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/re-retro-player.md) - [Motor-Shaped Record Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rotor-vinyl-record-player.md) - [Modernized Millennial Record Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/asenso-record-player.md)
