There's simply no end to what can be created with these [iconic building blocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-legend-of-zelda)--just look at the Mini LEGO Chess Set. Although this is definitely a more tame creation compared to other Trend Hunter LEGO posts, it just shows that this is one fad that doesn't seem to want to take a rest. Created by Flickr user akunthita, the Mini LEGO Chess Set is only 12 by 12 studs long (under 10 cm square). What I particularly like about this chess rendition is that it models itself after an [ornate, wooden set](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chess-nyc). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 29% | Activity: 57% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Mini LEGO Chess Sets:** The trend of creating miniature chess sets using LEGO bricks presents opportunities for innovative game design and customization. - **LEGO Building Block Mania:** The enduring popularity of LEGO bricks opens doors for disruptive innovation in various industries, from toy manufacturing to education and even architecture. - **Lego-inspired Ornate Designs:** The trend of incorporating LEGO-like elements into ornate designs offers disruptive innovation possibilities in the fields of furniture, decor, and interior design. ### Who This Affects Most - **Toy Manufacturing:** The growing demand for LEGO-inspired chess sets creates opportunities for toy manufacturers to develop unique and creative game products. - **Education:** Integrating LEGO chess sets into educational programs can facilitate interactive learning experiences and enhance problem-solving skills in students. - **Architecture and Interior Design:** Combining LEGO aesthetics with ornate designs can revolutionize the furniture and decor industry by offering playful and customizable pieces for homes and spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Building Block Board Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-settlers-of-catan.md) - [Buildable Game Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-lego-connect-4.md) - [Game-Inspired Playable Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tetris-solid.md) - [Fantasy Film-Inspired Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quidditch-trunk.md) - [Digital Game-Inspired Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/animal-crossing-set.md) - [Block Puzzle Microscope Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/functional-microscope.md) - [Building Block Foosball Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-table-football.md) - [Nostalgic Arcade Building Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-arcade-machine-set.md) - [Video Game-Inspired LEGO Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunscreen-mist.md)
