# Brainwave-Monitoring Cars Jaguar's Mind Sense Project Focuses on Brain-Monitoring Technologies By Rahul Kalvapalle | Published 2015-06-22 | Autos Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mind-sense References: [gizmag](http://www.gizmag.com/jaguar-brain-waves-safety/38096/) & [newsroom.jaguarlandrover](http://newsroom.jaguarlandrover.com/en-in/jaguar/news/2015/06/jlr_road_safety_ressearch_brain_wave_monitoring_170615/) Mind Sense is a [Jaguar](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/what3words-partnership) project that is looking towards employing futuristic new [road safety technologies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drunk-driving-detection), revolving around brain-monitoring technologies, to help drivers stay focused on the road and avoid accidents. The system is designed to detect when drivers are distracted or daydreaming. And this point, it attempts to get the driver's attention by vibrating the steering wheel or pedals. If a driver exceeds the speed limit, an actuator located atop the accelerator pedal arm will set up a warning that conveys to the driver that he or she needs to hit the brakes and slow down. Given advances in brain-monitoring technologies, the Mind Sense project only makes good sense -- no pun intended -- as it can save lives and make driving safer for all. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 41% | Activity: 36% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Brain-monitoring Technologies:** Opportunity for companies to develop and implement brain-monitoring technologies in various industries to improve safety and performance. - **Distracted Driving Prevention:** An opportunity for businesses to create innovative solutions that detect and prevent distracted driving, enhancing road safety. - **Connected Car Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunities exist in industries focused on developing and integrating technologies that enable cars to communicate with drivers and enhance road safety. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Automotive Industry:** Automakers and tech companies have the opportunity to collaborate and incorporate brain-monitoring technologies into vehicles to improve safety and driver experience. - **Technology Industry:** Tech companies can develop advanced brain-monitoring technologies and other innovative solutions to prevent distracted driving and improve overall road safety. - **Insurance Industry:** Insurance companies can leverage brain-monitoring technologies and connected car data to offer personalized policies and incentives that promote safe driving and reduce accidents. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Brainwave-Connected Tech Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/myndplay-myndhub.md) - [AI-Powered Sleep Headsets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frenz-brainband.md) - [Brain Training Headsets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brain-training-solution.md) - [Brainwave-Monitoring Headphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mw75-neuro.md) - [Advanced In-Cabin Monitoring Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/incabin-monitoring-system.md) - [Sleep-Focused Brainwave-Monitoring Personal Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumisleep.md) - [Brain Tracking Headphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mw75-neuro-lt.md) - [Mindful Mental Wellness Headphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mindamp-headphones.md) - [Drunk Driving Detection Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drunk-driving-detection.md)
