Instead, it can belong in a fan of Rainbow Brite's bedroom. What at first appears to be a [stack of thin colorful blocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/berto-hidden-secrets) is in fact a [chest of drawers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/center-center-storage) that functions quite like a traditional one in spite of its design. Designed by Emmanuelle Moreaux, a French designer based in Tokyo, Japan, the Mille-Feuille Storage Series seems to have been modeled after the [Sugamo Shinkin Bank](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sugamo-shinkin-bank1), which was constructed last year. Created for German furniture maker Schönbuch, it was inspired by the idea of colored sheets of paper thrown into the air. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 32% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Rainbow Aesthetic:** Opportunity to introduce bold, colorful designs to household items and furniture. - **Modular Storage:** Potential to create customizable furniture that is functional and visually appealing. - **Creative Design for Traditional Items:** Possibility to rethink and redesign household items to be more innovative and eye-catching. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture:** Incorporate new, refreshing designs to traditional furniture pieces and experiment with different materials and finishes. - **Home Decor:** Create art-inspired home decor pieces that add a pop of color and personality to any space. - **Children's Toys and Decor:** Design children's furniture and toys that incorporate bold and playful aesthetics to spark creativity and imagination. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Funky Colorful Storage Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colorful-storage-units.md) - [Colorful Minimally Designed Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colour-cabinet.md) - [Colorful Smart Storage Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linea-storage.md) - [Mobile Illuminating Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/for-a-fleeting-moment.md) - [Mounted Colorful Shelving Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ledge-shelf.md) - [Compact Steel Storage](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multidrawer.md) - [Colorful Dense Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joy-objects-1.md) - [Easy-to-Assemble Colorful Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interlockables.md) - [Colorful Modular Storage Sysem](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/center-center-storage.md)
