# Superheroic Military Safety Videos The US Army Uses Batman to Educate Troops on Proper Base Safety By Andrew Sztein | Published 2013-04-22 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/military-safety References: [laughingsquid](http://laughingsquid.com/bagram-batman-educates-soldiers-in-series-of-u-s-army-safety-psas) & [kotaku](http://kotaku.com/batman-is-teaching-the-us-army-safety-hilariously-476719022) The [United States Army](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-communicator) has a new weapon in the battle against lazy military safety. Proving that there can be a [sense of humor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-investment-fraud) when it comes to military safety, this new series of safety PSAs features a camouflage-clad Batman keeping an eye on things on a military base. When he sees something that goes against basic military safety, the Bagram Batman springs into action. Hilariously I might add. From the gravelly Batman voice to appropriate lines from the Dark Knight trilogy, these videos prove that a little humor can actually go a long way in educating people on proper procedure and being safer while in the line of duty. The US Army/Batman PSAs were created specifically for enforcing safety rules in Afghanistan military bases, and there are a half-dozen videos in the series, all of which end with the classic Dark Knight line, “Swear to me!” ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 7% | Activity: 48% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Humor](https://www.trendhunter.com/humor) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Humorous Safety Psas:** Using humor in safety videos can be an effective way to educate and engage viewers on proper procedures and safety precautions. - **Pop Culture References in Safety Education:** Incorporating popular characters or references, such as Batman, can help make safety education more relatable and memorable for audiences. - **Creative Approaches to Military Safety:** Exploring unconventional methods, like using superheroes, can bring attention to military safety protocols and increase compliance. ### Where This Applies - **Military Training:** The military training industry can leverage creative safety education methods, like humorous PSAs with pop culture references, to enhance training programs and improve safety outcomes. - **Entertainment:** The entertainment industry can partner with military organizations to create engaging safety videos that incorporate popular characters and references, effectively educating audiences while entertaining them. - **E-learning:** The e-learning industry can develop interactive and engaging safety courses inspired by humorous PSAs and pop culture references, providing an innovative approach to training and educating individuals on safety protocols. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Superhero Snack Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/black-ghost-chilli-chicken-wings.md) - [Cinema-Themed Bat Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bat-boxes.md) - [Dark Superhero Water Bottles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/batman-x-air-up.md) - [Autonomous Superhero Transportation Pods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wr322-ugv-batpod.md) - [Film-Inspired Graphic Apparel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-dark-knight-collection.md) - [Batman-Themed Kitchen Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/batman-small-kitchen-appliance-design.md) - [Dark Superhero Apparel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/batman-x-blvck-collection.md) - [Collaboration Superhero Comics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bazooka-bubble-gum-and-dc-comics.md) - [Superhero-Inspired Whiskys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inishtree-speyside-single-malt.md)
