The three designers created [massive wall murals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hubbabubbabuilding) of cartoon characters in humorous activities. For example, there is an octopus taking a ride on a [Ferris](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ferris-jewelry-organizer) wheel. Each door of the Pediatrics Department at the Sheba Tel Hashomer Hospital is covered in a new scene. Miki Mottes and his partners covered the walls from the floor to the ceiling with these whimsical murals. Each image is meant to transport visitors and patients to an alternate, fantasy-inspired world of imagination and pleasant curiosity. The idea for this project was to create a cartoon-infused setting with bright colors and smiling characters to ensure [children would feel comfortable](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deya-day-care). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 44% | Activity: 19% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Cartoon Wall Murals:** Design and illustration of massive wall murals in public spaces to create imaginative environments. - **Fantasy-inspired Illustrations:** Use of whimsical and playful illustrations to uplift mood and brighten atmosphere in hospitals and other public spaces. - **Pediatric Department Murals:** Design and creation of large-scale murals in hospitals to make the environment more engaging and comfortable for children. ### Who This Affects Most - **Hospitality:** Implementing mural designs in hotels and other hospitality spaces for aesthetic and experiential purposes. - **Architectural Design:** Integrating large-scale illustrations and murals in architectural design to enhance the spatial experience and promote creativity in public spaces. - **Children's Entertainment:** Creating interactive and imaginative environments for children's entertainment spaces such as play zones and amusement parks. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Customizable Kids Wall Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doodleface.md) - [Interactive Creativity Home Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doodle-interactive-wall.md) - [Ultra-Colorful Design Studios](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whimsical-studio.md) - [Playful Medical Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zoobree-nebulizer.md) - [Puzzle-Inspired Italian Nurseries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/noahs-ark-nursery.md) - [Town-Like Children's Hospital](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/herzog-de-meuron.md) - [Raindrop-Inspired Hospital Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hospital-installation.md) - [Kid-Designed Sculptural Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/galerie-philia.md) - [Statement Wall Covering Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/el-muro.md)
