University Professor Dr. Mike Page had big plans for a puny place, and the results of his work have been radical. Dr.Page's [Cube House](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tetra-pak-and-keter) is an entire [eco-friendly home in a tiny](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tign-tiny-homes) 3 x 3 x 3 metre frame. This may sound too compact for comfort, but Page has designed the humble home very carefully, utilizing every bit of space. Mike Page's Cube Home is two floors, and contains all of the common living areas that one would require. Every piece of furniture is built on a smaller scale than usual and fits into the place perfectly. The home has [solar panels on its roof](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pocket-passiv), which provides it with energy, thereby costing the dweller less to maintain the home. It was also designed with no windows; since it really is so tiny, it would overheat very quickly. Take a tour through Mike Page's eco-friendly Cube House and get a taste of living in sync with the environment. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.2/10 - Popularity: 86% | Activity: 91% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) > [Eco Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/ecoarchitecture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Compact Home Living:** Designing small-scale homes that utilize every inch of space and offer a big living experience. - **Eco-friendly Living Spaces:** Creating sustainable homes that rely on solar panel technologies and other renewable energy sources. - **Furniture Design for Small Spaces:** Developing furniture that is built on a smaller scale than usual and tailored to small homes or apartments. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture/construction:** Opportunity to design and build eco-friendly and affordable tiny homes that maximize living space. - **Renewable Energy:** Opportunity to create innovative solar panel technologies that allow for sustainable compact home living. - **Furniture Design:** Opportunity to design and manufacture furniture that is tailor-made for compact homes or apartments. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Reinvented Compact Living](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/affordable-housing-prototype.md) - [Compact Sustainable Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cabana.md) - [Low Footprint Compact Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nano-micro-house.md) - [Modern Mobile Futuristic Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nestron.md) - [Sustainable Cubic Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/appels-architekten.md) - [Solar Powered Compact Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/e55000.md) - [Compact Urban Dwellings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miami-tiny-house.md) - [Reimagined Micro Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mark-vi.md) - [Space-Conscious Compact Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minuet.md)
