# Anthropomorphic Avian Art 'Bellena Belle and the Birds' by Mike Nelson By Jessica Marcel | Published 2010-04-01 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mike-nelson References: [art-milk](http://art-milk.com/mike-nelson/) & [artisagoodthing](http://www.artisagoodthing.com/artwork/bellena-bell-and-birds) Artist Mike Nelson used family as inspiration for this series, titled "Bellena Belle and the Birds." Nelson's grandmother had a love for birds, and in this series the birds, along with his grandmother, come to life in sketches. The [anthropomorphic depictions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heir-and-a-spare) of each of the birds gives Mike Nelson room to create a much more interesting series than with realistic sketches. The birds really come alive and it seems the birds could speak at any moment. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 19% | Activity: 36% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Life](https://www.trendhunter.com/life) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Anthropomorphic Art:** Explore the use of anthropomorphism in various art styles to add depth and meaning to the artwork. - **Personalized Art:** Create art inspired by personal experiences to produce an emotional connection with the audience. - **3D Art:** Experiment with 3D printing and projection mapping technology to create interactive art installations. ### Where This Applies - **Art:** Incorporate artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms into the creation process to produce unique artworks at a faster rate. - **Animation:** Use anthropomorphism in character design to create relatable and unique animated characters that can capture audience attention. - **Virtual Reality:** Create immersive art installations utilizing virtual reality technology to provide viewers with a completely new and interactive experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Striking Urban Wildlife Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clare-allin.md) - [Almost-Extinct Animal Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fauna-series.md) - [Bird-Inspired Speaker Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/birdinspired-speaker.md) - [Pride-Honoring Bird Figurines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pride-birds.md) - [Bird-Shaped Food Packagings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bigbilled-bird-food-concept.md) - [AI Bird Identifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nature-intelligence.md) - [Vibrant Bird-Inspired Artful Puzzles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macar-parrot.md) - [Whimsical Bird-Like Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiki-lamp.md) - [Bird-Inspired Earbud Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tweettunes.md)
