Oakland-based company [Mighty Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mighty-mlk) recently raised over $40 million in Series B funding with the mission to build sustainable homes that do not compromise the affordability or design. The company uses technology such as 3D printing, automation, as well as robotics.

[Mighty Builds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mighty-action-heroes) claims to be able to print the structures “two times as quickly with 95% less labor hours and 10-times less waste” in comparison to conventional construction methods. The financing is made possible by [Khosla Ventures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/Ellis-AI) and Zeno Ventures. The companies are spotlighting a hybrid method of home construction that utilizes 3D printing and prefabrication building. They are introducing a proprietary thermoset composite material by the name of Light Stone Material. This helps with alleviating the dependence on materials such as concrete and steel.
