The collection features Blu-rays of every one of the films from the franchise, including all three 'Lord of the Rings' films and all three 'The Hobbit' films. Not only does the Middle-earth Limited Collectors Edition include the six theatrical releases, but it also contains Peter Jackson's extended directors cuts for each of the movies, as well as a host of bonus content. All in all, the Middle-earth Limited Collectors Edition contains 30 total discs. To add to the allure, the collectors item is sold in a whimsical fake bookshelf, and each of the movies comes as its own faux-leather "book." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 33% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Media](https://www.trendhunter.com/media) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Fantasy Film Box Sets:** The trend of releasing limited collectors editions of fantasy film box sets allows hardcore fans to own the complete series with bonus content and unique packaging. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Entertainment:** The entertainment industry has the opportunity to create and market limited collectors editions of popular film franchises to cater to dedicated fans. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Fantasy-Inspired LEGO Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-lord-of-the-rings-lego-set.md) - [Fantasy Series Building Blocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-shire-set.md) - [Intricate Magical Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rivendell-set.md) - [Legacy Animator Media Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/disney-legacy-animated-film-collection.md) - [Sci-Fi Tower-Inspired Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baraddr.md) - [Special Edition Film Discpacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/special-edition-film-discpacks.md) - [Limited-Edition Fantasy-Inspired Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lord-of-the-rings-keyboard.md) - [Minimalist Design-Conscious Boot Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/harry-potter-hogwarts-set.md) - [Filmic Virtual Fitness Challenges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/virtual-fitness-challenge.md)
