The program begins by providing financial literacy training, mentoring, professional skills development and life skills support. Once women become ready to begin a business, they will be able to receive microloans -- small loans -- to start their businesses. In this way, the Microlending for Women in Ontario Program gives low-income women access to training and financial support they wouldn't have had otherwise.
