The Dutch firm is collaborating on a structure that is identified as "a closed-loop climate system" with Expomobilia, Kossmann Dejong and Witteveen+Bos. A venture into [sustainable architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heatwave-pavilion), the [cone-shaped pavilion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pasona-natureverse-pavilion) boasts a facade that is composed of plant rings. The collaborators identify their experiment in microclimate systems as "more of a biotope than a building." Attendees of the Dubai Expo 2020 will be able to survey the sizeable structure through a transparent rectangular facade that will shield the fragility of the stunning development. Inside, V8 Architects will treat visitors to an auditorium, large exhibition space, lounges, a restaurant, and a shop. It is projected that the biotope will be the intrinsic intersection of "water, energy, and food." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 80% | Activity: 66% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) > [Eco Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/ecoarchitecture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Microclimate Systems:** The development of innovative microclimate systems could revolutionize the way constructors develop sustainable buildings. - **Sustainable Architecture:** Sustainability-focused architecture is an area where innovative ideas related to microclimate control can be practiced. - **Vertical Gardens:** Vertical gardens could be a disruptive innovation in the building sector, and one that could be used in sustainable architecture projects involving microclimate control. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture:** Innovative solutions involving microclimate systems and sustainable architecture offer the potential for unique architectural innovations. - **Construction:** Advanced methods of microclimate control in buildings can bring significant benefits to the construction industry, and open up new ways of designing and building sustainable buildings. - **Environment:** Microclimate systems can help in creating sustainable building designs that optimize resource utilization, minimize waste and environmental impact. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Living Structure-Based Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canada-pavilion.md) - [Glowing Sphere Art Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/netherlands-pavilion.md) - [Mushroom-Like Wooden Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carbon-garden-pavilion.md) - [Botanical Visitor Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/green-ark-pavilion.md) - [Sleek Spiralling Ramp Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/czech-pavilion.md) - [Barcon-Negative Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/picoplanktonics.md) - [Greenhouse Office Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/office-for-roundtable.md) - [Sustainable Visitor Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/green-arc.md) - [Interactive Architectural Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-landscape.md)
