# Curvy Cabinet Designs Mick Born's Cabinets Need to be Felt-Up to be Opened By Michael Hines | Published 2010-10-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mick-born References: [dornob](http://dornob.com/classy-curves-simple-contemporary-handle-free-cabinetry/) & [mickborn](http://www.mickborn.com/) Mick Born is an [interior designer](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nelson-basic) who has created a cabinet that eliminates the need for handles altogether. Mick Born's cabinets all curve out slightly at the end, providing an area to grip and open them. I never really noticed how awkward and out of place [handles on cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabinet-hardware) looked until I saw Mick Born's redesign. These handles are intuitive and blend right into the [furniture piece](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bells-whistles), keeping your decor sleek and tidy. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.0/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 11% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Handle-less Cabinets:** The trend of handle-less cabinets eliminates the need for traditional handles, creating sleek and seamless furniture designs. - **Intuitive Furniture Design:** The trend of intuitive furniture design incorporates features that are easy to use and blend seamlessly into the overall aesthetic. - **Sleek Home Decor:** The trend of sleek home decor prioritizes clean lines and minimalistic designs, including seamless cabinets without visible handles. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can explore opportunities to create innovative furniture pieces with handle-less designs. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The furniture manufacturing industry can embrace the trend of intuitive and handle-less designs to differentiate their products and attract modern consumers. - **Home Improvement:** The home improvement industry can offer handle-less cabinet options as a disruptive innovation to enhance the overall aesthetic and functionality of modern homes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tropical Island-Inspired Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/weaver-cabinet.md) - [Modern Curvy Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/curvy-furniture-design.md) - [Elegant Wooden Pull Handles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-ribbon-pull.md) - [Cabinet-Concealed Modern Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/obelisk-3.md) - [Luxe Grooved Versatile Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cesar.md) - [Forest-Inspired Wooden Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hayashi-cabinet.md) - [Curved Base Plywood Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-embrace-sideboard.md) - [Textured Oak Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nick-james.md) - [3D-Printed Door Gear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ross-lovegroves-door-handles.md)
