In addition to Michelle Obama's elegant style, fashionistas and fashion blogs are obsessed with the artistic and futuristic style of pop star Lady Gaga.

After amusing and shocking us with her [zipper eye accessory](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artsy-eyewear-collection) at her recent "American Idol" performance, Lady Gaga explains her style and passion for fashion in a cover story in the new April 2009 issue of ASOS Magazine.

Lady Gaga explains, “In an abstract way I could say it was very New York, graphic, [avant-garde](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hm-x-glenn-martens)…”

She continues, “My look is art. It’s meant to be [walking art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dirty-looks) all the time. Even if I’m in something casual, the imagery is supposed to be powerful.”

Lady Gaga was photographed by David Venni and styled by Cynthia Lawrence-John for the ASOS Magazine feature.
