# Colorful Metal Car Parks This Hospital Parking Garage is Surrounded by Vibrant Metal Slats By Katherine Pendrill | Published 2015-10-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/metal-slats References: [dezeen](http://www.dezeen.com/2015/10/20/diaz-diaz-arquitectos-hospital-car-park-a-coruna-spain/) & [diazydiazarquitectos](http://www.diazydiazarquitectos.com/en/estudio-arquitectura/) 'Díaz & Díaz Arquitectos' recently designed a beautiful car park that is surrounded by colorful metal slats. When it comes to hospital parking, these structures are often bland and uninspiring. This vibrant parking garage demonstrates that car parks can be just as beautiful as other buildings. The multi-level car park serves the ontology and maternity wards of a hospital in A Coruña, Spain. The parking garage features a series of slopping ramps that help to account for the differences between ground level. Each floor is then surrounded by a series of colorful metal slats, which gives the structure a stripped appearance. The slats help to ventilate the structure and also give patrons a view of the sea. The vibrant design is therefore beautiful and functional at the same time. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 71% | Activity: 47% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Colorful Metal Slats:** Opportunity for using colorful metal slats in architectural designs for car parks and other buildings to create vibrant and functional structures. - **Vibrant Parking Garages:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to transform the typically bland and uninspiring hospital parking garages into visually appealing and beautiful structures. - **Functional Ventilation Features:** Innovative designs incorporating ventilation features like metal slats in parking garages and other buildings to provide necessary airflow and aesthetics. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture & Design:** Opportunity for architects and designers to explore the use of colorful metal slats in car parks and other building projects, enhancing visual appeal and functionality. - **Hospitality & Healthcare:** Disruptive innovation potential to improve the aesthetics and functionality of hospital parking garages by incorporating vibrant designs, enhancing the overall patient experience. - **Construction & Infrastructure:** Opportunity for construction and infrastructure companies to incorporate functional ventilation features like metal slats in parking garage designs, elevating the quality and sustainability of projects. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Adaptive Parking Structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/niels-bohr-car-park.md) - [Playfully Vibrant Studio Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colgio-salesiano.md) - [Park-Covered Structural Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ola-palermo.md) - [Garden-Centric Health Centers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carcavelos-health-complex.md) - [Ultra-Colorful High-Density Residential Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/highdensity-residential-design.md) - [Juxtaposing Garden Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garden-garage.md) - [Incredibly Colorful Offices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colorful-office.md) - [Colorfully Bright Hillside Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canary-house.md) - [Parking Lot-Transformed Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/octa-house.md)
