The color and shape of these chewy sugar treats pay tribute to the stars and stripes of the American flag. Blogger Mom on Time Out cleverly came up with this at-home gummy recipe for parents to make with their children on Memorial Day weekend. To make these sweet party snacks, all you have to do is mix sugar, gelatin, apple sauce and Jell-O mix. To create a patriotic color-scheme like Mom on Time Out did with her gummies, opt for a strawberry and blueberry-flavored Jell-O packets. Once these gummies have hardened, you can sprinkle the candied Jell-O in sugar. Kids can have fun punching out the gummy treats with a star-shaped cookie-cutter. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.5/10 - Popularity: 3% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Homemade Treats:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop innovative and unique homemade treat recipes for different occasions. - **DIY Food Crafts:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create DIY food craft kits that allow parents and children to make creative and edible treats together. - **Patriotic Food:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design and produce patriotic-themed food items and snacks for holidays and celebrations. ### Who This Affects Most - **Food and Beverage:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new flavors, ingredients, and presentation techniques to create innovative food and beverage products. - **Children's Products:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop interactive and educational food products for children that encourage creativity and learning. - **Event Planning and Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Offer unique and customizable food and decor options for events and celebrations, including themed treats and snacks. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Patriotic Doughnuts Lineups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/memorial-day-lineup.md) - [Flavorful Patriotic Fruit Snacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/welchs-fruit-snacks-red-white-blueberry.md) - [Independence Day Donut Lineups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-spangled-sweetness-collection.md) - [Patriotic Americana Donuts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/krispy-kreme-stars-and-stripes-dozen.md) - [Limited-Edition Americana Snack Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hostess-4th-of-july-treats.md) - [Playful Gummy Bear Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gummy-bear-kit.md) - [Patriotic Americana Pastry Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fourth-of-july-donuts.md) - [Patriotic Sprinkle-Infused Snack Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/red-white-blue-twinkies.md) - [Patriotic Popping Candy Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/popping-candy-bar.md)
