# Deconstructed Dinnerware Artwork Livia Marin’s Melted Ceramic Art is Fantastically Deconstru By Sarah St.Jules | Published 2013-07-31 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/melted-ceramic-art References: [neatorama](http://www.neatorama.com/2013/07/29/Livia-Marins-Melted-Ceramics/) & [liviamarin](http://liviamarin.com/portfolio/broken-things/) Kettles and tea cups are standard features in most homes, and this melted ceramic art is a surrealist take on those regular, everyday items. Livia Marin has taken the structure of dainty [tea kettles and cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loewe-teapots) and have deconstructed their usual look. Liquifying the outside of the objects has made some pieces nearly unrecognizable, except for the handle or spout. The most interesting feature of this art is how the patterns on the melted pieces have still remained intact. The [intricate fine china designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handpainted-ceramic-collections) of the patterns are the perfect representation of what they used to be, all the while keeping true to the traditional designs of kettles and tea cups. This melted ceramic art is the perfect example of how regular objects can be easily altered, and how a simple addition can evoke the feelings of the original. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 38% | Activity: 11% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Deconstructed Dinnerware Art:** The trend of deconstructing dinnerware art creates a surreal and unique take on traditional objects, opening up opportunities for innovative designs and reinterpretations. - **Melted Ceramic Art:** The trend of melted ceramic art challenges the notion of permanence and transforms everyday objects into abstract and fluid sculptures, presenting opportunities to explore new forms of artistic expression and experimentation. - **Preserving Traditional Designs:** The trend of preserving traditional designs in melted ceramic art combines nostalgia with innovation, providing opportunities to blend classic aesthetics with contemporary techniques and materials. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Sculpture:** The art and sculpture industry can explore the disruptive innovation opportunities of deconstructing dinnerware and creating melted ceramic art, offering unique pieces that challenge traditional artistic conventions. - **Home Decor and Interior Design:** The home decor and interior design industry can incorporate melted ceramic art as a distinctive and avant-garde element in their products, allowing for the creation of visually stunning and conversation-starting pieces. - **Fine China and Tableware:** The fine china and tableware industry can leverage the trend of preserving traditional designs in melted ceramic art to introduce modern interpretations of classic patterns, attracting consumers looking for elegant and innovative dinnerware options. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Origami-Inspired Porcelain Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saori-matsushita.md) - [Innovative Ceramic Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-tableware1.md) - [Venetian Baked Glass Housewares](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arte-veneziana-melt.md) - [Modern Poertic Ceramics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/virginia-sin.md) - [Repurposed Studio Scrap Pottery](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daon-pottery.md) - [Experimental Pottery Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gourd-project.md) - [Revived Mid-Century Serveware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tortugaware.md) - [Textural Porcelain Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tamara-efrat.md) - [Artsy Surrealist Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gohar-world.md)
