Situated in the neighborhood of Footscray, this renovated Melbourne apartment's [pink and grey palette](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rendezvous-apartment) is designed to counter-balance the [exposed walls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-est) to give the space the kind of aesthetic appeal you might associate with [art galleries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/art-curators-apartment). Accordingly, the apartment's furniture and other household elements have a similar presence to small art objects and sculptures on display, helping to create a consistent visual appeal. The apartment also features open-concept dining and relaxation areas that aim to increase the perception of space, further adding to the flat's gallery-like feel. This Melbourne apartment is a great example of the influence of minimalist contemporary art on modern interior design. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Minimalist Contemporary Art:** Exploring the influence of minimalist contemporary art on modern interior design can lead to innovative and captivating aesthetic choices. - **Soft Pastel Colors:** Utilizing soft pastel colors in interior design can create a cozy and gentle ambiance, transforming the space into a calming oasis. - **Open-concept Spaces:** Designing open-concept dining and relaxation areas can enhance the perception of space and create a gallery-like atmosphere within an apartment. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can embrace the influence of minimalist contemporary art, incorporating soft pastel colors and open-concept spaces to create visually appealing and welcoming environments. - **Art Galleries:** Art galleries can draw inspiration from the use of soft pastel colors and minimalist contemporary art to curate exhibitions that provide a consistent visual appeal and create a cozy atmosphere for visitors. - **Furniture and Home Decor:** The furniture and home decor industry can explore the incorporation of soft pastel colors and design open-concept pieces that resemble small art objects, providing customers with visually striking and unique options for their living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Vibrant Milanese Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/milanese-apartment.md) - [Whimsical Family Home Renovations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/2lg-studio.md) - [Vibrant Tonal Spanish Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colombo-and-serboli-architecture-1.md) - [Nostalgic 70s-Inspired Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-special-studio.md) - [Bright Colorful Converted Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/so-sebastio-123.md) - [Pink-Detailed Art Gallery Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/superzoom.md) - [Warm-Tonal Urban City Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/general-assembly.md) - [Elevated Design-Forward Pink Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pink-villa1.md) - [Retro-Rich Kraków Apartment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/krakw-apartment.md)
