The 'Too Beautiful to Be True' installation by artist Meike Harde uncovers how ones perception of beauty isn't always what it appears to be.
The show, which takes place at the Exhibition of Fine Arts in Saarbrücken, Germany, centers around three women seen posing in plain white t-shirts and interchanging their lips and eyes to create a new aesthetic. Though individually the lips and eye parts, which are in various shapes, sizes and colors are perceived as attractive and beautiful, when put on the subjects faces a contorted imagery comes to fruition. This exhibition is intended to demonstrate that artificially produced beauty is not always in fact beautiful but can in fact arouse the complete opposite.
Through her provocative images, Meike Harde shows that natural beauty is the most attractive of all.
