Creating the ultimate contrast between contemporary and ancient, the designer has filled his manor with surprisingly [modern furnishings with a minimalist aesthetic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/texas-residence). Cobblestones, arches and caverns give the manor a rustic glamour that could easily become Gothic and haunting, yet with bright furniture and breezy spaces, the interior is very cheerful and inviting, mixing the best of both worlds. Alcoves and terraces built into the structure provide excellent places for Fradiani's wine rack, patio fixtures and swimming pools. With an eye for aesthetics, Patrizio Fradiani turned a medieval castle into a stylish and modern mansion. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 75% | Activity: 68% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Contemporary Medieval Decor:** Opportunity for interior designers to mix modern furnishings with historical aesthetics in medieval spaces. - **Rustic Glamour Trend:** An opportunity for home decor retailers to market the juxtaposition of modern and historical aesthetics in a rustic setting. - **Modern Castle Renovations:** An opportunity for property developers and architects to turn historical castles into modern, stylish mansions while still preserving their ancient charm. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can take advantage of the trend of modern furnishings in historical settings. - **Home Decor Retail:** Home decor retailers can market furnishings that complement the juxtaposition of modern and historical aesthetics in a rustic setting. - **Real Estate Development:** Property developers and architects can create contemporary, stylish mansions while preserving the historical charm of castles. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modernized 1960s Villas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/castelli-romani.md) - [Modern Tuscan Chapel Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pailunga-tuscan-chapel.md) - [Medieval Design-Inspired Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/medival-design.md) - [Patio-Centering Villa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-tres-patis.md) - [Cool Tonal Stylistic Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/take-time.md) - [Heritage-Themed Family Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mill-house.md) - [Traditional Stone Farmhouse Extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-bressan.md) - [Crafted Historic Villas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pppler.md) - [Luxuriously Artistic Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/child-studio1.md)
