The drone maintains a quadcopter design that is capable of being filled with the required prescription before lift off; the unit will autonomously fly to the delivery location to provide patients with their meds. The drone would work in partnership with pharmacies via a smartphone app, which would also help with prescription management and order fulfillment. The conceptual Medicine Delivery Drone has a foldable design that wouldn't take up much space when not in use and could support a contactless user experience. This would work effectively in the future as a way to reduce contact between people in the event of another health crisis. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.2/10 - Popularity: 83% | Activity: 90% | Freshness: 13% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/robots) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Contactless Medication Delivery:** There is an opportunity for companies to invest in drone technology for contactless medication delivery, which will increase efficiency and reduce contact between people during health crises. - **Autonomous Prescription Fulfillment:** Developing an app that helps with prescription management and order fulfillment can create opportunities for autonomous prescription fulfillment using technology like drones. - **Foldable Drone Design:** The development of a foldable drone design that doesn't take up much space when not in use could be a disruptive innovation within the drone technology industry. ### Who This Affects Most - **Pharmaceuticals:** Pharmaceutical companies can explore the potential of using drones for contactless medication delivery and implement technology for autonomous prescription fulfillment. - **Drone Technology:** The drone technology industry can innovate by developing a foldable design for drones that can support contactless medication delivery and other drone-based services. - **Mobile Application Development:** There is an opportunity for mobile app developers to create a smartphone app that can help with prescription management, order fulfillment, and drone-based delivery services. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Medication Delivery Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amazon-pharmacy-1.md) - [Intercity Cargo Delivery Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dji-express.md) - [Blade-Free First Responder Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ems-drone.md) - [Temperature-Resistant Delivery Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/temperatureresistant-delivery-drones.md) - [Drone-Powered Medical Supply Deliveries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/medical-supply-deliveries.md) - [Drone-Compatible Smart Mailboxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-mailboxes.md) - [Tilting Delivery Drone Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drone-concepts.md) - [Modernized Waste-Free Medication Packaging](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-medicine-dispenser.md) - [Logistical Heavy-Duty Delivery Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dji-flycart-100.md)
