In a unique take on regional fare, [McDonald's Italy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mcdonalds-salad-burger) is serving up a [new chicken burger](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mcdonalds-mcspicy) topped with grilled veggies dubbed the 'McChicken Delicato.'

McDonald's Italy's new McChicken Delicato is one of two new McChicken sandwiches made with local ingredients. The fresh new sandwich consists of a [crispy-fried chicken breast filet](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roasted-chicken-breast-sandwich) topped with grilled zucchini and Provolone Valpadana DOP, which is a protected provolone cheese variant made in Italy. The sandwich is also topped with a special mayo mixed with dried tomatoes from Puglia, which is an area known for producing some of Italy's best olive oil. The new recipe was created as part of a partnership between McDonald's Italy and GialloZafferano, which is one of the country's most popular recipe sites.
