# Collaborative Conference Boards The MC Square is a Modular White Board, Ideal for Cooperative Work By Amelia Roblin | Published 2014-09-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mc-square References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2014/09/24/the-power-of-writing-boards/) & [kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mcsquares/mc-squares-a-dry-erase-system-for-creative-spaces) The designer of the MC Square system understands the common use and valuable potential of the whiteboard as a means to share ideas between people. The dry-erase surface has long been a go-to for scribbling down words and illustrations in order to communicate concepts in the workplace and elsewhere in daily life. Anthony Franco's goal was thus to make this standard [wall-mounted item](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nanoleaf-blocks) into something much more personal and personalizable. Comprising [individual square modules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gioco) with separate brackets, the [drawing boards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boring-canvas) can be removed from the wall for convenient use in one's lap or on a desk. This flexibility enables sketches to be exchanged between pairs, or pinned up together, exhibiting the combined work of many minds. The magnetized MC Squares can also be fixed back-to-back, and fitted with drawing templates behind the hinged glossy surface. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.9/10 - Popularity: 3% | Activity: 15% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Modular White Boards:** The MC Square system offers the opportunity for customizable and flexible collaborative workspaces. - **Personalizable Whiteboards:** The MC Square system allows individuals to personalize their whiteboard experience, making it more engaging and tailored to their needs. - **Flexible Sketch Exchange:** The MC Square system enables easy sketch exchange between pairs, fostering collaborative idea generation and refinement. ### Where This Applies - **Office Supplies:** The MC Square system presents a disruptive innovation opportunity by bringing modularity and personalization to traditional office whiteboards. - **Collaborative Workspaces:** The MC Square system provides a new way to create flexible and dynamic collaborative workspaces that enhance teamwork and creative thinking. - **Creative Tools and Accessories:** The MC Square system offers a disruptive innovation opportunity by combining traditional whiteboards with customizable features, appealing to creative professionals seeking interactive and flexible tools. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Multifunctional One-Piece Stationary](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mover-erase-unisize.md) - [Adaptable Organizer Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-square-organizer.md) - [Collaborative Life Organization Platforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/myboard-platform.md) - [Interactive Task Organizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-freeboard-app.md) - [Space Reconfiguring Panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mobl-panels.md) - [Reusable Magnetic Sticky Notes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/m-note.md) - [Magnetic Whiteboard Notebooks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whiteboard-notebook.md) - [Whiteboard Workstation Organizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deskboard-buddy.md) - [Interactive Multipurpose Touchscreen Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hkmlc-smart-boards.md)
