The versatile [camping tarp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/switra-swisstrail) functions as a [cozy blanket](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sleeping-bag-comforter), a lean-to tent, and a hammock in one hardy piece of gear. The MC Hammie is made from ripstop nylon, a rugged and waterproof material that should keep consumers dry if it rains and will be sure to withstand the pressures that get exerted on hammocks. It's also easy to clean off with a hose between uses, making it a great [ground blanket](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/camping-mattress) that keeps campers from getting muddied up. Plus, weighing in at only two pounds, the MC Hammie will hardly be noticeable in one's pack. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 86% | Activity: 69% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Multifunctional Camping Gear:** The trend of multifunctional camping gear presents an opportunity for innovative products that combine multiple functionalities in one item, such as the MC Hammie which functions as a tent, hammock, and blanket. - **Lightweight Outdoor Equipment:** The trend of lightweight outdoor equipment creates a space for disruptive innovations that offer durable and versatile gear, like the MC Hammie which weighs only two pounds and is suitable for camping trips. - **Sustainable Outdoor Products:** The trend of sustainable outdoor products opens doors for environmentally friendly innovations, like the MC Hammie made from ripstop nylon, a rugged and waterproof material that is easy to clean. ### Where This Applies - **Outdoor Recreation:** The outdoor recreation industry can leverage the trend of multifunctional camping gear by developing innovative products that cater to the needs of campers looking for versatile and compact equipment, such as the MC Hammie. - **Sporting Goods:** The sporting goods industry can tap into the trend of lightweight outdoor equipment by creating disruptive innovations that offer lightweight yet durable gear for outdoor enthusiasts, like the MC Hammie which is designed to be easily portable. - **Sustainability and Eco-friendly:** The sustainability and eco-friendly industry can explore the trend of sustainable outdoor products by developing environmentally friendly camping gear, like the MC Hammie made from ripstop nylon, a material that is both rugged and waterproof. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Packable Multifunctional Hammocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightweight-travel-hammock.md) - [Featherlight Lay-Flat Camping Hammocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haven-spectre-tent.md) - [Protective Campsite Shelter Tarps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/camping-tarp.md) - [Frontcountry Hammock Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frontcountry-hammock-tent.md) - [Hammock-Hauling Micro-Campers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/microcamper.md) - [Multifunctional Crowdfunded Hammocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hangpad.md) - [Exo-Frame Hammock Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anymaka-hammock-tent.md) - [Ultralight All-in-One Hammock Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skynest-hammock-tent.md) - [Consolidated Camping Shelters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/consolidated-camping-shelter.md)
