# Massive Indoor Sport Centers The 'Indoor Golf Arena' To Be World's Largest By Alexandra Choli | Published 2009-02-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/massive-indoor-sport-centers-indoor-golf-arena-world-largest-netherlands References: [indoorgolfarena.eu](http://www.indoorgolfarena.eu/index.php/Articles/Impressions.html) After the outrageous indoor ski resort in Dubai, it was probably only a matter of time for the indoor trend to spread to other popular though climate-defenseless sports. And golf was definitely on top of the list. A number of Dutch companies who are also world-leaders in the golf sector, decided to embrace the idea and create the [Indoor Golf Arena](http://www.indoorgolfarena.eu/index.php/Articles/Impressions.html), a sheltered sport center that aims to cater to golf enthusiast around the world. Scheduled to be completed by 2010 in Netherlands, the magnificent project will cover a total of 34 bays and offer 14,000 square feet of synthetic grass practice facilities. It boasts a fantastic architectural design, shaped like a futuristic cocoon and features pure white frames and generous glass openings. Amenities include 20 state-of-the-art ProTee Golf Simulators, kids’ training course, [wellness and fitness facilities](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gymnation), comprehensive golf equipment shop, fine dining, bar and lounge areas, broad business services, and, of course, a 4-star hotel. The overwhelming concept aspires to become the world’s largest [indoor golf centre](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pickleball-club); quite a confusing statement really, as it is hard to imagine how it can fail, being the only one around. Still, given the chance and the financing, I would rather visit an open space golf resort in a warmer location. As for its instruction-oriented aspect, all that blissful glass should better to watch out for the stray amateur hits. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 62% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Indoor Sport Centers:** Opportunity to create innovative indoor sport centers for climate defenseless sports like golf. - **Synthetic Grass Practice Facilities:** Opportunity to develop synthetic grass practice facilities for indoor golf centers and other sports facilities. - **Protee Golf Simulators:** Opportunity to leverage advanced ProTee Golf Simulators for enhanced golfing experiences in indoor sport centers. ### Who This Affects Most - **Sports and Recreation:** Opportunity for sports and recreation industry to invest in and expand indoor sport center facilities. - **Hospitality and Tourism:** Opportunity for hospitality and tourism industry to cater to indoor sport center visitors by providing accommodation, dining, and leisure facilities. - **Golf Equipment and Technology:** Opportunity for golf equipment and technology industry to supply cutting-edge equipment and simulators to indoor golf centers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Golf Simulator Setup Services](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carls-place.md) - [Domed Underground Sports Centers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alma-complex.md) - [Golf-Inspired Textural Club Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/muni-indoor-golf-club.md) - [Expansive Pickleball Stadiums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pickleball-stadium.md) - [Skyline Sports Arenas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neom-sky-stadium.md) - [Large Sports Complexes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/greater-bay-area-sports-centre.md) - [Recycled Mini Golf Courses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miniature-golf-course.md) - [Enclosed Vertical Farms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eco-1.md) - [Social Sports Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ballers-sports-venue.md)
