# Dinosaur Dessert Drawings The Jurassic Sweet Mashup Illustration Project is by Alejo Malia By Alyson Wyers | Published 2015-01-05 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mashup-illustration References: [designtaxi](http://designtaxi.com/news/371453/Dinosaurs-And-Food-Mash-Up-Turns-Ferocious-Beasts-Into-Imaginative-Sweet-Treats/) & [behance.net](https://www.behance.net/gallery/22320959/Jurassic-Sweet) The most recent [mashup illustration series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cinnabon-swirl) by Alejo Malio combines [dinosaurs from Jurassic Park](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/7eleven-jurassic-world-rebirth) with Ben and Jerry's ice cream flavors. In Jurassic Sweet the Spanish designer transforms pre-historic monsters into tasty treats. This includes the Donutsaurus Rex, Cupcakeceratops, Oreosaurus, Cookieraptor and Wafflesaurus. Despite the mashup illustration project's description on the artist's Behance page, the beasts seem to be mixed with dessert items rather than ice cream. Either way, the delightful drawings integrate the sweet element with the dino's distinct physical characteristics. For example, Oreo cookies are used to create ridges on the back of one animal. Icing also creates a hump for the pink triceratops while a velociraptor has unique cookies and creme coloring. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 61% | Activity: 53% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Mashup Illustration:** There is an opportunity to create unique mashup illustrations by combining unlikely elements. - **Food-inspired Art:** Exploring art that combines food and other subjects can offer a fresh perspective and engage viewers. - **Nostalgic Pop Culture Art:** Creating artwork that combines elements from popular culture can evoke a sense of nostalgia and interest. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Design:** Artists can explore new ways to merge different subjects and capture audiences' attention. - **Food and Beverage:** Food and beverage companies can leverage food-inspired art to market their products and engage consumers. - **Entertainment:** The entertainment industry can tap into nostalgia and create merchandise or promotional materials inspired by nostalgic pop culture art. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dinosaur-Themed Gummy Candies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sour-tropical-dinos.md) - [Dino-Themed QSR Menus](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/primal-menu.md) - [Cereal-Steeped Ice Creams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cerealsly-delicious-series-by-salt-straw.md) - [Museum-Themed Cookie Treats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/natural-history-museum-and-biscuiteers.md) - [TV Tray-Inspired Ice Creams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hungry-dad-fathers-day-tray.md) - [Donut-Shaped Frozen Desserts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/donut-dessert-bars.md) - [CPG-Inspired Ice Creams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-ice-cream-project-anya-hindmarch.md) - [Retailer Dinosaur Product Ranges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/7eleven-jurassic-world-rebirth.md) - [Jet Black Dessert Concept](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/opaque-2.md)
