It would seem that with each newly released mascara product comes an equally novel [mascara applicator](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fingermimicking-makeup-applicators), but the new Le Révolution Volume from [Chanel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/camlia-futura) is particularly noteworthy for its design.

Back in 2007, Chanel filed a patent for the creation of cosmetic products applicators with 3D printing, which included a [3D-printed mascara brush](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/adapte-collection). Now, Chanel will soon be launching its new product with a brush that has been created with additive manufacturing.

Chanel’s Le Révolution Volume mascara brush apparently features a new shape that would otherwise be impossible to create, were it not for 3D printing. The new design has a granular texture to improve upon the way the product adheres to the lashes, as well as a form that prevents clumping.
