Klimas achieves the exploding effect by dropping the figures from a few feet high and snapping a photo right as they hit the ground. This gives the images a massive amount of energy -- almost as if the martial artists have so much power that they can’t even control it. As the [plastic flies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kinetic-vases) and the heads pop off of the figures, one can feel the explosive boom that is encompassed in the photos. Martin Kilmas portrays the [figurines in a variety of positions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nina-chanel-abney-bravo); from the group shots to the stoic individual poses, these photographs are packed with plenty of action. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 78% | Activity: 59% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Explosive Photography:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new techniques to capture dynamic and visually striking images through controlled explosions. - **Action-packed Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine different art forms, like martial arts and photography, to create captivating and energetic visual experiences. - **Unconventional Subjects:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Challenge traditional notions of photography subjects by embracing unexpected and unconventional elements, like exploding dolls. ### Where This Applies - **Photography:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop innovative techniques and equipment that enable photographers to capture unique and dynamic images through unconventional methods. - **Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Encourage collaborations and experimentation between different art forms to push boundaries and create groundbreaking visual experiences. - **Toy Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the integration of technology and interactivity in toys to enhance play experiences and create more engaging products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Explosion-Damaged Sculpture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-into-darkness.md) - [Physics-Informed Digital Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motion-sculpture.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Blurry Abstract Photography Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optical-allusion.md) - [Raw Sports Emotion Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/game-exhibition.md) - [Collaborative Monochromatic Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/collaborative-monochromatic-art-exhibition.md) - [Public Art Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paul-anthony-smith.md) - [Surreal Love-Themed Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joakim-ojanen.md) - [Drone-Assisted Landscape Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/katsu-1.md)
