# Colorful Clothespin Sculptures Martin Huberman's Tornado Sunrise Sculpture Uses 68,000 Clothespins By Ady Floyd | Published 2015-08-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/martin-hubermans References: [mymodernmet](http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/martin-huberman-sunrise-tender-vortex?utm_source=feedly&utm_medium=webfeeds) & [normal.ar](http://www.normal.com.ar/) Martin Huberman of [Normal Studio](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/muuto-1) created this beautiful sculpture using [colorful clothespins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colorama). The sculpture is titled 'Sunrise Tender Vortex,' which reflects its complex shape and the color scheme. This artistic installation is hung like a swirling tornado and begins with a large circumference that gradually becomes smaller towards the ground. The color scheme follows a similar pattern -- as the colors begin dark they gradually transition into a lighter hue. The installation begins with deep purple clothespins that turn pink then rose-colored and finally yellow to mimic a sunrise. The 'Sunrise Tender Vortex' installation by Martin Huberman is currently on display at Buenos Aires' Museo MAR. The artwork is [suspended from the ceiling](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suspended-lighting-installation) and overhangs a gap in the floor between two levels, which creates an eye-catching installation for visitors. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 82% | Activity: 15% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Colorful Clothespin Sculptures:** Opportunity for artists and designers to create unique sculptures using everyday materials. - **Complex Shape Installations:** Potential for creating visually stunning and captivating installations through intricate shapes and patterns. - **Gradual Color Transition:** Innovative use of color gradients in art and design to create dynamic and visually striking pieces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Design:** Opportunity for artists and designers to explore new mediums and create thought-provoking pieces. - **Museum and Exhibition:** Museums and exhibitions can attract visitors with eye-catching and intriguing installations. - **Event Decor and Design:** Event planners and designers can incorporate unique and visually stunning installations to enhance the overall experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Solar Energy Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/michael-jantzen-2.md) - [Towering Reclaimed Wooden Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/louise-durham.md) - [Interactive Kinetic Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-kinetic-sculptures.md) - [Air-Circulating Laundry Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clothes-drying-rack-concept.md) - [Insect-Inspired Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insect-bronze-sculptures.md) - [Human Embraced-Inspired Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wallmounted-sculpture.md) - [Spiky Inflatable Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inflatable-sculptures1.md) - [Color-Blending Kinetic Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/felipe-pantone.md) - [Artfully Rotating Glass Pillars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/panorama.md)
