Heukeshoven's models are highly detailed and look too good to be abandoned in a dirty junkyard. Each model is between 20 and 39 inches long and features a [detailed engine and interior](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/1992-gwagen) made from random odds and ends. Making a realistic-looking model of a new car is tough enough, but making one out of rusty pieces of scrap is downright difficult. To make matters even tougher, Heukeshoven only uses discarded objects he finds to create his art. Only three or four pieces are made a year, as each one takes between three and four months to complete. All of the hard work is worth it as a Martin Heukeshoven [rusted car model](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cada-audi-r8) is priced at $32,280 each. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 46% | Activity: 19% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Detailed Car Models:** The trend of creating highly detailed models of cars, including rusted vehicles, using discarded objects and random odds and ends. - **Artistic Replicas:** The trend of creating unique replicas of real-life objects, such as rusted vehicles, using non-traditional materials and methods. - **Sustainable Art:** The trend of creating art and models using discarded objects and promoting sustainability in the creative industry. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Model-making Industry:** The industry that creates detailed models of various objects, from architectural structures to vehicles, using unique materials and techniques, such as rusted cars made from discarded objects. - **Art Industry:** The industry focused on creating unique, creative, and original pieces of artwork using innovative and non-traditional materials and methods, such as making models of rusted cars using random odds and ends. - **Sustainability Industry:** The industry that encourages sustainability and environmental stewardship by promoting sustainable practices in various fields, such as the creative industry that uses non-traditional materials to create art and models, like rusted cars made from discarded objects. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Decayed Car Playsets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hot-wheels-x-daniel-arsham.md) - [Miniature Art Cars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hot-wheels-and-daniel-arsham.md) - [Life-Sized Car Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/benedict-radcliffe-1.md) - [Miniature Designer Collectible Cars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/art-car-1.md) - [Dynamic Car-Themed Structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/veiled-porsche.md) - [Limited Racing Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/honda-ra272.md) - [Fashion-Branded Model Cars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paul-smith-and-land-rover.md) - [Fashion Collaborative Toy Cars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mschfs-hot-wheels.md) - [Car Part-Repurposed Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/furniture-capsule-1.md)
