This sofa was designed by Kamkam and took inspiration from other fabrics; the back rest of the couch has a braided, twin-like effect, which provides unique yet comfortable seating amongst the [spacious seat cushions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pillo-sofa). The marshmallow effect is aimed at the bottom of the couch. Because the cushions go straight to the floor, it appears to look similar to a soft and squishy, oversized, sugary confection. The couch is made of soft wool, which makes it visually satisfying at a distance and welcomes guests to sit down and relax. This inviting and delectable couch will add a modern feel to your living space, while satisfying the desire for a [sturdy comfortable and unique sofa](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reimagined-everyday-sofa). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 68% | Activity: 35% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Squishy Furniture:** The trend of furniture designed to look & feel similar to a soft and squishy, oversized confection is on the rise - **Whimsical Home Decor:** Home decor with unique, quirky and playful aspects are becoming more popular with consumers - **Inspired by Food:** Furniture and home decor designs that take inspiration from food and confections are gaining attention in the industry ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture:** The furniture industry has an opportunity to innovate with new materials and designs, incorporating unique and playful elements, to cater to consumers seeking whimsical pieces. - **Home Decor:** Home decor retailers have room for innovation with new playful designs and unique materials that appeal to consumers seeking to add a fun element to their living space. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers and decorators have an opportunity to offer creative, unique and quirky furnishings to consumers looking to add fun and playful elements to their spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Precariously Suspended Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suspended-sofa.md) - [Compact Pillowy Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sander-series.md) - [Plush Sculptural Lounge Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rokko.md) - [Illusory Floating Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-soft-sofa.md) - [Modular Butter-Inspired Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/butter-sofa.md) - [Modular Bulbous Lounge Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sundae-modular-lounge.md) - [Enveloping Sofa Structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perron-pillo.md) - [Voluptuous Texture Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bretz-balaao.md) - [Realistic Bread-Inspired Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-loafa.md)
