The marijuana reviewer, according to the ad posted on the paper's website, will "review marijuana strains, [infused products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cannabist-company-and-veda-warrior) [...] unique to Oregon's robust [cannabis culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/women-of-weed) and marketplace." In Oregon, along with Colorado, Washington and Alaska, marijuana is legal. The Denver Post already has a professional "cannabist" to advise recreational smokers on what to smoke and how to smoke it. The Oregonian, which has long been reporting on marijuana news, including the progress of legalization, wants to follow suit. The Oregonian marijuana reviewer will be a freelancer who writes two to four articles per month for the paper and its site, OregonLive.com. Cannabis culture is becoming increasingly accepted and above-ground, especially with the growth and success of advocacy for legalization. With this shift comes a huge new market for [cannabis-centered products, services and media](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cannabis-sampling), like this ahead-of-the-curve marijuana reviewer role. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 68% | Activity: 56% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Media](https://www.trendhunter.com/media) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Legal Cannabis Market:** The increasing acceptance of cannabis culture and legalization is creating a demand for cannabis-centered products and services. - **Marijuana Reviewing Industry:** The emergence of professional marijuana reviewers presents an opportunity for individuals to provide expert opinions on cannabis strains and infused products. - **Cannabis Media:** The cannabis industry is in need of media platforms, such as newspapers and websites, that provide information and reviews about marijuana strains and products. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Cannabis Products:** Manufacturers can tap into the legal cannabis market by creating innovative and high-quality cannabis-centered products. - **Reviewing Services:** Businesses can capitalize on the potential demand for professional marijuana reviewers by offering specialized reviewing services. - **Media Publishing:** Media companies can enter the cannabis industry by creating platforms that cater to marijuana enthusiasts and provide news, information, and reviews about cannabis. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Reach-Expanding Cannabis Partnerships](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flower-by-edie-parker1.md) - [Bi-Coastal Cannabis Competitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-mjbowl.md) - [Recreational Cannabis Expansions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/legalization-of-recreational-cannabis.md) - [Destination Review Jobs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/edubirdie.md) - [Collaboratively Crafted Cannabis Cookies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cannabis-cookie.md) - [Extra Large Prerolls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-great-dane.md) - [Customizable Slow-Burning Cannabis Cigars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slowburning-cannabis-cigar.md) - [Liquid Diamond-Infused Pre-Rolls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/innovative-cannabis-prerolls.md) - [Cannabis-Forward Advent Calendars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rise-dispensary.md)
