Although some may look at it and see a glorified beach chair, I see a delicate seat that would fit into any living space with ease. Designed by Pierre Brichet, the Marie-Sophie chair features a [steel trellis structure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/poodle-armchair) and a [leather seat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dopio). Rather prismatic, there is a focus on empty spaces that gives this chair an [airy feel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-lite-chair). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 35% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Steel Seating:** Opportunity for innovative designs using steel as a material for furniture. - **Empty Space Design:** Potential for incorporating negative space elements into furniture designs for a unique aesthetic. - **Airy Furniture:** Opportunity to create furniture that appears light and ethereal through the use of materials and design. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture:** The furniture industry can explore new designs and materials to create innovative seating options. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can leverage the trend of incorporating negative space to create visually appealing furniture arrangements. - **Steel Manufacturing:** Steel manufacturers can explore collaborations with furniture designers to create unique steel seating products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Structurally Complex Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-arch-chair.md) - [Marbles-Inspired Intricate Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shepherd-studio.md) - [Sustainable Metallic Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stuttgart-chair-20.md) - [Sleek Steel Structural Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/combchair.md) - [Leather-Accented Industrial Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/l1-chair-from-object-leuci.md) - [Chic Single-Piece Plywood Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/void-lounge-chair.md) - [Perforated Steel Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stamping-chair.md) - [Stone Vein-Inspired Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ana-chair.md) - [Stainless Steel Reflective Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-view-chair.md)
