The iconic cartoon character is brought to life through this intricate design which depicts Marge from the shoulders up gazing into the distance, adorned with her classic red pearl necklace. The cake takes a humorous twist by depicting Marge as hiding a fully functional [donut factory](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pon-de-digda) under her iconic blue, bee-hived locks -- a nod towards her fictional junk food-loving husband, Homer. The cake was designed with such intricacy, the yellow-clad character looks as though it could come to life. The complicated cake was made with tangerine-infused milk chocolate ganache, and stacked with layers of vanilla cake. The Marge Simpson cake serves as an [edible example](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artful-cake) of the merging of [popular culture with other disciplines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-simpsons-classic-clog) to appeal to an increasingly growing demographic. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.9/10 - Popularity: 69% | Activity: 70% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Internet](https://www.trendhunter.com/internet) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Pop Culture-inspired Cakes:** Opportunity for bakeries to create intricate, edible designs based on popular television, movie, and video game characters. - **Humorous Desserts:** Opportunity for bakeries to infuse humor into their dessert designs to stand out and appeal to customers. - **Edible Art:** Opportunity for bakeries to create visually stunning and realistic cakes that blend traditional baking techniques with artistic expressions. ### Who This Affects Most - **Bakery:** Bakeries can incorporate pop culture references and humor into their desserts to appeal to a wider, younger audience. - **Entertainment:** The entertainment industry can collaborate with bakeries to promote their characters and franchises through custom cakes and desserts. - **Art and Design:** Cake artistry can be recognized as a form of edible art and can create opportunities for pastry chefs to showcase their creativity and innovation. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Colorful Doll-Topped Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barbie-cakes.md) - [Pink Cartoon Character Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinkfong-strawberry-dream-cake.md) - [Cartoon-Inspired Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-simpsons-krusty-burger.md) - [Cartoon Character Themed Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baby-shark-cake-collection.md) - [Game-Themed Cake Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/among-us-impostor-cake.md) - [Balloon Dog Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balloon-dog-cake.md) - [Monstrous Ice Cream Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crunchie-munchie-monster-cake.md) - [Cartoon Burger-Inspired Donuts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-krabby-patty-kollab.md) - [All-Occasion Layered Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cake.md)
