# Caged Stone Lamps A Modern Marble Light Bulb Marries Utility with Sophisticated Design By Amelia Roblin | Published 2015-02-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/marble-light-bulb References: [muuuz](http://muuuz.com/magazine/rubriques/design/46522-dan-yeffet-d-light.html) & [danyeffet](http://www.danyeffet.com/work/dlight) There's an industrial look to this marble light bulb fixture, yet aesthetically and materially, it's quite certainly stylish too. Yet again, Dan Yeffet has managed to establish harmony between bare-minimum components and high-quality production, ending up with these luxurious stone illuminators. Called the D/Light, this piece consists of a [stone base](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/umami-collection) that's the shape of half of a capsule. Its rounded form has been polished perfectly smooth, revealing its exquisite natural patterns of marble veins. Nested within this is a [yellow light globe](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-glow-light) that delivers a warm and diffuse glow, despite its lack of a lampshade. Mimicking warehouse-style pendant lamps, this marble light bulb design features a seemingly protective [metal cage](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polyshape), completing a lighting object with an unexpected magnificence. It can be suspended from the ceiling or set down on a table on its slight flattened side. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 69% | Activity: 29% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Marble Lighting:** Opportunities for further innovation in combining marble and lighting. - **Industrial Chic Design:** Opportunities for incorporating industrial design elements into modern products. - **Bare-minimum Components:** Opportunities for creating elegant and minimalist designs by using the fewest necessary components. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Lighting:** Innovations in combining durable materials and warm lighting for luxury home decor products. - **Home Decor:** Opportunities for creating high-end industrial chic home decor using marble and similar materials. - **Furniture:** Innovations in incorporating minimalist design elements into furniture products for a modern and sleek look. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modern Marble Waste Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sole-lamp.md) - [Stone-Inspired Lighting Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stone-collection.md) - [Adaptive Marble Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emit.md) - [Street Light-Inspired Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/standing-lamp-marble.md) - [Volcanic Stone Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foscarini-lava-lamps.md) - [Luxurious Futuristic Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/futuristic-table-lamp.md) - [Illuminating Stone-Made Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nau-design.md) - [Archetypal Conical Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragile-lamp.md) - [Hand-Cast Crystal Glowing Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nola-lamp.md)
