Award-winning Portland-based brewery Migration Brewing has released 'Maple Coronet,' a delectable and complex barrel-aged maple barleywine that forms one of the more recent limited-edition offerings to emerge from the brewery's 'Migrator' barrel-aged series.

This maple barleywine makes use of delicious, organic maple syrup sourced from Glenna Farms in Amery, Wisconson. The beer itself is aged for six months in [Heaven Hill bourbon barrels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barrel-strength-bourbon), giving it its complex character and irresistible flavor. Coming in at 11 percent ABV (alcohol by volume), this barrel-aged maple barleywine makes use of rich English Maris Otter malts and a trio of caramel malt varieties. Maple syrup was added to the mix both during the run-off stage as well as the fermentation phase.

The end result is a barleywine that offers the distinct taste of maple without being unduly overpowering.
