# Masquerading Alien Art 'Many Faces of Spock' Depicts Star Trek Icon in Various Disguises By Jason Soy | Published 2012-08-07 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/many-faces-of-spock References: [blog.thaeger](http://blog.thaeger.com/2012/08/07/spocks-faces/) & [flickr](http://www.flickr.com/photos/razcity/sets/72157624005561327/) Spock of Star Trek fame is best known for his iconic appearance, but when you take the Vulcan and dress him up as other pop culture staples, you get a hilarious collection of images that is 'Many Faces of Spock.' Feast your eyes on pictures of Spock dressed as Magnum P.I., Che Guevara, David Bowie, Salvador Dali, Princess Leia and even a Na’vi from James Cameron’s [Avatar](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thrilljoy-pix). I’ve only scratched the surface of these masquerading Spock illustrations as there are 30 in total. The 'Many Faces of Spock' series can be found in its entirety on the Raz City Flickr account. The description of the project explains that it’s a loving homage to their favorite [sci-fi character](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-trek-uss). The possibilities for expanding the collection seems endless to me. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 79% | Activity: 29% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Pop Culture Mashups:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating mashup art that combines iconic characters from different pop culture franchises. - **Fan Art Revivals:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Reimagining beloved characters in new, unexpected ways to attract a new generation of fans. - **Nostalgic Remakes:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Remaking classic characters from the past with a modern twist to capitalize on nostalgia. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Leveraging technology to create unique and interactive art experiences. - **Entertainment:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborating with artists to produce new and exciting interpretations of established franchises. - **Marketing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Utilizing fan art to engage and connect with target audiences in innovative ways. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sci-Fi-Inspired Classical Posters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sen-donnan.md) - [Hand-Knit Sci-Fi Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handknit-scifi-sculpture.md) - [Sci-Fi-Inspired Yacht Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-trek-inspired-yacht.md) - [Festive Sweater Vests](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fandomspecific-sweater-vests.md) - [Sci-Fi Show Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yusuke-hanai-1.md) - [Sci-Fi Film-Themed Dart Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/starfleet-phaser-blaster.md) - [Sci-Fi Franchise-Inspired Fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-wars-collection-2.md) - [Space-Themed Game Seasons](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fall-guys-ultimate-knockout.md) - [Sci-Fi-Themed Miniature Figurines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/book-of-boba-fett-1.md)
