# Transparent Fluid Seating The Manta Chair by DesigNNobis is Inspired by the Graceful Sea Creature By Meghan Young | Published 2014-05-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/manta-chair References: [deconiche](http://www.deconiche.com/manta-chair-designnobis/) & [designnobis](http://www.designnobis.com/) The Manta Chair is perhaps one of the most elegant interpretations of the sea creature when it comes to furniture. Sleek and simple, the Manta Chair captures the [fluidity of its form](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/archipen) beautifully while adding a bit of visual interest through the use of a [transparent plastic material](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transparent-bean-bag). By doing so, the skeletal qualities of the manta ray are strikingly incorporated to add a nice touch of detail. Designed by DesigNNobis, a studio based in Ankara, Turkey, the Manta Chair is all about detail. For instance, while the two front legs are fashioned out of metal, the back leg is made out of wood and extends along the spine of the backrest all the way down to the ground. It is available in different colors. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 94% | Activity: 66% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Transparent Fluid Seating:** Opportunity for disruption: Innovations in transparent materials can revolutionize the design and functionality of furniture, allowing for unique and sleek designs. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunity for disruption: Furniture manufacturers can explore the use of transparent materials to create visually interesting and modern seating options. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Insect-Like Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-mantis-chair.md) - [Sea Creature-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seat-urchin.md) - [Water Ripples-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/water-ripples-chair.md) - [Seashell-Inspired Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/traditional-and-digital-techniques.md) - [Rope-Like Dynamic Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caterpillar-lounge.md) - [Wavy Lounge Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wavy-lounge-chair.md) - [Marbles-Inspired Intricate Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shepherd-studio.md) - [Sustainable Plastic Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mare-chair.md) - [Aluminum Stainless Steel Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/morph-chair.md)
