# Spinal Bike Seats The Manta Bicycle Seat Keeps Your Butt Awake and Your Spine Straight By Michael Hines | Published 2010-06-01 | Unique Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/manta-bicycle-seat References: [gizmag](http://www.gizmag.com/manta-bicycle-saddle/15251/) & [mantasaddle.biz](http://mantasaddle.biz/) The Manta Bicycle Seat has to be the weirdest looking bicycle seat I have ever laid eyes upon. This seat resembles a spine, and that's about as much analysis I can give. The Manta Bicycle Seat slopes down, which is odd for any bicycle seat. The bright blue color and quirky styling are sure to catch eyes. The seat claims to offer better ventilation and support than traditional seats, so maybe a break from tradition is in order. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 40% | Activity: 57% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Inventions](https://www.trendhunter.com/inventions) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Ergonomic Bike Seats:** There is a trend towards bike seats that prioritize the rider's comfort and posture, such as the Manta Bicycle Seat. - **Disruptive Bike Designs:** Quirky yet functional bike designs, like the Manta Bicycle Seat, are shaking up the cycling industry. - **Speciality Sports Equipment:** The Manta Bicycle Seat showcases a trend of niche sports equipment that cater to specific needs and preferences. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Bicycle Manufacturing:** Bike manufacturers can explore innovative designs and materials to create more comfortable and ergonomic seats like the Manta Bicycle Seat. - **Sporting Goods Retail:** Sporting goods stores can offer unique and specialized products like the Manta Bicycle Seat to attract customers and stand out from competitors. - **Fitness and Wellness:** The trend towards ergonomics and comfort in sports equipment like the Manta Bicycle Seat can be part of a larger trend of wellness-focused products and services. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [3D-Printed Bicycle Saddles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/matrix-mirror-saddle.md) - [Custom-Fit 3D-Printed Bike Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/personomic-saddle.md) - [Orthopaedic Saddle Gaming Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cross-mantis.md) - [Cork Bicycle Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cork-bicycle-seat.md) - [Seat-Free Spin Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/martoni-cardio-speeder.md) - [Aircraft-Like Hydrofoil Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hydrofoiler-sl3.md) - [Insect-Like Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-mantis-chair.md) - [Comfortable Bleacher Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comfortable-bleacher-seat.md) - [Custom-Printed Cyclist Saddles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fizik-onetoone-saddle.md)
