# Spaceship-Style Mansion Basements This Isn’t Your Typical Mansion's Basement By Michael Baxter | Published 2014-02-19 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mansions-basement References: [boingboing.net](http://boingboing.net/2014/02/13/victorian-mansion-for-sale-wit.html) & [rightmove](http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-41542705.html) Considering many people do not and will not own a mansion, it’s difficult to know what a mansion's basement looks like. Had you asked the average person what they thought a mansion’s basement looked like I’m sure they wouldn’t assume it would look like a [fully-furnished space ship cockpit](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interstellar-arc). Those people would be wrong as this mansion's basement is a very detailed recreation of a spaceship. When you see the listing for this mansion, it hilariously downplays the fact that there is a full-sized cockpit in the basement. The spaceship is incredibly detailed and realistic and it is also big enough to fit two so if one is in need of a co-pilot, they’re fully covered. Aside form the [spaceship in the basement](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yoohome) though, the mansion also features eight bedrooms, a dressing room, a wine cellar and a study among other fancy and expansive spaces. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 81% | Activity: 64% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Spaceship-style Mansion Basements:** Opportunity for luxury real estate developers to incorporate elaborate basement designs, such as spaceship-themed rooms, to create unique selling points for high-end buyers. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Luxury Real Estate:** Market demand for innovative and extravagant basement designs in mansions presents an opportunity for luxury real estate developers to differentiate their properties and attract wealthy buyers. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can explore futuristic and fantasy-themed designs, like spaceship-style basements, to offer clients unique and immersive spaces that push the boundaries of traditional home decor. - **Entertainment:** The entertainment industry can leverage spaceship-themed mansion basements as immersive experiences or event spaces, catering to a niche market of individuals looking for one-of-a-kind venues. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Underground Autonomous Shelter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plan-b-1.md) - [Sci-Fi-Inspired Yacht Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-trek-inspired-yacht.md) - [Castle-Inspired Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hollywood-hills-house-1.md) - [Excavated Underground Living Space](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hideaway-house.md) - [Luxe Metaverse Mansions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cavalli-mansion.md) - [Anticipatory Architectural Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vulcan-house.md) - [Subterranean Social Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/william-vale-hotel.md) - [Mansion-Topped Surreal Hotels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/marison-heler.md) - [Spaceship-Like Entertainment Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/odyssey-entertainment-system.md)
