Looking closer, I can see that there is definitely a grainy, pulp-like finish, yet it is impressive how unique the material looks. Going for a [futuristic and functional look](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stamping-chair), Manfred Kielnhofer's tube chairs are incredibly durable despite being made out of paper. Although perfect for artsy studio spaces, I'm not sure how comfortable they would be. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 24% | Activity: 64% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Sustainable Furniture:** The use of recycled newspapers in tube chairs presents an opportunity for sustainable furniture manufacturing. - **Industrial Aesthetic:** The industrial look of tube chairs by Manfred Kielnhofer taps into the trend for industrial aesthetics in interior design. - **Innovative Materials:** The use of paper as a material for tube chairs creates opportunities for innovative material sourcing and experimentation. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The use of recycled newspapers in tube chairs opens up possibilities for eco-friendly furniture production. - **Interior Design:** The industrial aesthetic of tube chairs aligns with the demand for industrial-inspired interior design in both residential and commercial spaces. - **Material Science:** The use of paper as a durable material for tube chairs presents opportunities for material scientists to explore new applications and advancements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Waste-Incorporated Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knoll-chairs.md) - [Bended Tubular Chair-Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wire-chair-concept.md) - [Meticulous Paper-Stacked Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paragraphic-in-four-stacks.md) - [Ribboned Recycled Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ruffini.md) - [Tubular Organic-Formed Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loopy-chair.md) - [Recycled Dynamic Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bultan-chair.md) - [Comfy Printed Component Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/3dprinted-chair-design.md) - [Sustainable Concise Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tube-collection.md) - [Industrial Duct Work Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dust-series-chairs.md)
