# Elephant-Inspired Sauna Mammuthus Belli from AtelierFORTE Stands 30 Feet High With 18-Foot Tusks By Michael Hines | Published 2011-04-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mammuthus-belli References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2011/04/11/sauna-of-mammoth-proportions/) & [atelierforte](http://www.atelierforte.com/) AtelierFORTE is bringing back the Ice Age in style with the Mammuthus Belli. The Mammuthus Belli is a 30-foot sauna designed to look like a gigantic elephant. Now I have officially seen everything. In addition to being 30 feet high, this [massive sauna](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jonas-sauna) will also have 18-foot tusks that [circulate water into the sauna](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/watercave) with the main source of water coming from the belly. The body and support structures are set to be made using [spruce wood](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/upcycled-sauna), while the tusks are to be made out of iron. Perhaps the coolest feature of this sauna is that it is actually being built! That's right, construction on the Mammuthus Belli is set to start on the 12th of April, 2011 (tomorrow). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.5/10 - Popularity: 7% | Activity: 1% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Novelty Saunas:** Opportunities for businesses to offer unique and unconventional sauna designs, incorporating creative and fun elements beyond the traditional sauna experience. - **Theme-based Entertainment:** Opportunities for themed experiences in niche markets like sauna lovers who are interested in animal-inspired designs for their relaxation spots. - **Sustainable Habitat:** Opportunities for businesses to leverage eco-friendly materials for sustainable housing that is both creative and practical such as spruce wood used in the Mammuthus Belli sauna design. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Hospitality:** Hotels and resorts can leverage unique sauna designs to improve guest experience and attract new customers. - **Wellness:** Sauna studios and spas can incorporate creative designs to offer unique and immersive experiences to their clientele. - **Architecture and Construction:** Architects and construction firms can experiment with unconventional design concepts for sustainable housing that are both visually appealing and functional. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modern Mobile Sauna Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aquila-sauna.md) - [Reflection-Inducing Floating Saunas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trosten-floating-sauna.md) - [Architectural Home Saunas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-luminar.md) - [Portable Tent-Style Saunas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iam-sauna.md) - [Portable Luxury Saunas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thermowood-minicube-sauna.md) - [View-Overlooking Portable Wooden Saunas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saunabivak.md) - [Scandinavian-Inspired Wellness Saunas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thermasol-1.md) - [Modular Sauna Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pavilion-sei.md) - [Hammam-Inspired Sauna Cubicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/logica-plus.md)
