If you want breathtaking views and a modern hideaway surrounded by gorgeous scenery then this is the perfect escape. MU architecture constructed this project in Charlevoix, Canada, and its simple and wooden designs appear to blend in with the terrain. This camouflaging haven has a roof that is completely covered with grass and moss, which insulates the building in the hot summer by cutting back the heat. The facade is made out of red cedar from British Columbia, and the lower element of the house has been dyed a darker hue. This house is the perfect place to grow old in when one can live in seclusion with panaromatic views of the jaw-dropping river and rolling hills. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 85% | Activity: 79% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Eco-friendly Architecture:** The use of sustainable and natural materials, such as moss and grass, in building designs to reduce carbon footprint. - **Secluded Forest Getaways:** The trend of creating architecturally camouflaged retreats that blend into breathtaking natural landscapes. - **Natural Insulation:** The idea of using green roofs and natural elements to insulate buildings and save on energy costs. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture:** Architecture firms can explore eco-friendly design innovations using natural insulation and sustainable materials. - **Tourism and Travel:** Tourism companies can capitalize on the trend of secluded forest getaways and eco-friendly accommodations in breathtaking landscapes. - **Environmental and Energy Conservation:** Companies focused on energy efficiency and natural insulation can explore partnerships with architecture firms to promote sustainable building practices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Angular Modern Lakeside Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/memphremagog-lake-residence.md) - [Thoughtful Lakeside Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lakeside-living.md) - [Blackened Timber Tranquil Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-hideaway-house.md) - [Forest-Nestled Dynamic Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/q88-residence.md) - [Timber-Clad Canadian Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-cime.md) - [Elevated Mountain Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-cadree-perche.md) - [Contemporary Mountainous Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mountainous-home.md) - [Tranquil Nature-Centric Cabin Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nortehaus.md) - [Meadow-Overlooking Sleek Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studioac-1.md)
