# Floating Home Accessories An Illusionist Uses a Magnetic Levitation Device To Float Things Midair By Alyson Wyers | Published 2014-06-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetic-levitation References: [psfk](http://www.psfk.com/2014/06/levitation-platform-floating-objects.html) & [crealev](http://www.crealev.com/product/clm-2/) By using a magnetic levitation device, an illusionist created floating home accessories, taking your decor to the next level. Brusspup used Crealev's CLM 2 Levitation Module to manufacture this magical effect. Magnetic levitation is created through the CLM 2 module base and carrier. To maximize the effect, one could also hide the base. This means you can entertain guests with a [floating chess board or book stack](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floating-bench), like the video Brusspup uploaded to [YouTube](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/learning-with-buddy). The base is what is required, however, for the [levitating optical illusion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hooptical). It is electrically powered and contains an optical sensor. Meanwhile the carrier disc can hold up to 10 kilograms on top of it, or it could be embedded within an object. Crealev has other devices and products that use magnetic levitation, including a lamp. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 15% | Activity: 38% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Magnetic Levitation Decor:** The use of magnetic levitation devices in home decor presents opportunities for innovative and attention-grabbing products. - **Levitating Product Accessories:** Brands can leverage magnetic levitation technology to create unique and memorable product accessories that stand out in the market. - **Optical Illusion Furniture:** Furniture designers can incorporate magnetic levitation technology in their designs to create optical illusion furniture that creates a sense of awe and wonder in users. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** Home decor businesses can use magnetic levitation devices to create products that provide a unique and visually stunning addition to people's homes. - **Product Design:** Product designers can incorporate magnetic levitation technology into their designs to create products that have a distinct edge and differentiation in the market. - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers can use magnetic levitation technology to create products that offer unique aesthetic value and create an intriguing and unique user experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Optical Illusion Air Purifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/winben-levitating-air-purifier.md) - [Floating Futuristic Writing Utensils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/levitating-pen.md) - [Floating Decorative Desk Setups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/levitating-cybertruck.md) - [Space-Inspired Hovering Pens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/levitating-pen-30.md) - [Galactic-Themed Pen Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ufo-desk-pen.md) - [Optical Illusion Humidifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/serena-antigravity-humidifier.md) - [Levitating Solar System Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quantum-solar-system.md) - [Delicate Illusory Ceiling Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aria-light.md) - [Levitating Dynamic Ring Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/levitos.md)
